Lisa C. Murphy, MD

Lisa C. Murphy, MD

Dr. Lisa Murphy was a practicing physician for over thirty years. She is the author of two published novels: The Turkish Mirror  and  The Wyrmstone, both works of Magical Realism. She is currently working on a four volume series of historical fiction that extends from 1832 to 1865,  encompassing the Civil War. She says of her work:  "I am particularly fond of language: ancient, modern, ethnic, upper class, gutter slang, the language of thieves or the idioms of doctors, the words a mother might choose, or a wizard. I collect vocabularies and marvel at speech patterns. We have delightful ways of expressing ourselves, we humans!"
